or far from home, we are one ohana walking different paths, but in one direction together.
Our Small Groups provide an opportunity to build friendships and share life together. We eat, laugh, explore God’s word, and encourage each other to grow as followers of Jesus in our everyday lives.
Family Small Group
Everyone can use a mid week pick-me-up, both spiritually and emotionally. Each Wednesday night, our Family Small Group meets from 5:30 – 7:00 pm. We eat, laugh, learn how to incorporate God into family life, and support one another. Childcare is also provided for $5 per family.
Free Movie Night
Once per month, KUMC hosts a family friendly movie night on our lawn. The event itself is free, and we offer $1 pizza slices and $1 bags of movie theater popcorn. We suggest bringing blankets or chairs for seating, and your reusable water bottle – hope to see you under the monkey pods!
S.U.R.F. stands for See, Understand, Reduce + Follow, a creative name given by our monthly beach cleanup group! SEE the problem we’re facing, UNDERSTAND its impact it plays on our environment + marine life, REDUCE our single use plastic usage, and be someone your friends + family want to FOLLOW. Beach cleanup locations vary each month, but more information can be found on our Facebook page.
Seekers is our adult-only small group that meets Tuesday nights at 7:00 pm (locations may vary.) This lively group thrives on potlucks, friendships and seeking to walk closer to God.
serve THE COMMUNITY
Ultimately, we grow by having a purpose and a cause that are bigger than ourselves. We grow by being part of a team that is serving others. Here is what we are doing in the world, and we invite you to join us!
Twice per year, KUMC hosts a community blood drive with the Blood Bank of Hawaii. Donors come from all over the area, not just our church. You can sign up to donate or volunteer once those dates have been released!
Family Promise of Hawai’i is an innovative program that helps families with minor children escape homelessness, or prevent them from ever becoming homeless. KUMC often has monetary fundraisers or supply drives to help these families as their needs arrive.
OUr global presence
As part of our Global Ministries, annually KUMC supports the United Methodist Committee on Relief (UMCOR). Most recently, some of our Outreach Team visited Cambodia and its surrounding areas, assisting in programs that support children, continuing education and agriculture
The Tandana Foundation is a non-profit organization that offers support for community initiatives in Ecuador’s Otavalo Canton and Mali’s Bandiagara District. Over the years, KUMC has worked to support the development and building of several fresh water wells in these areas!
